Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the effectiveness of using fish killer fruit extract as an anesthetic in carp fingerlings. Extract fish killer fruit was used as a treatment with doses of 0 mL/L (control), 1 mL/L, 1.5 mL/L and 2 mL/L, respectively. Parameters observed were sedative time, inductive time, survival and water quality. The results showed that the 2 mL/L treatment was a sedative time of 15.5±0.72 (P<0.05), an inductive time of 12.25±0.42 (P<0.05) and survival was 93.33. ±0.27 (P<0.05) the best and normal water quality.

This home industry product is primarily marketed in Prahara market, Sentani City. Due to it is a seasonal product, the community should discover and examine the core aspect of this business, such as the availability and sustainability of the raw product. This study examines the feasibility of the skipjack tuna (Katsuwonus pelamis L) in the smoked fish production community in Hinokombe Sub-District in Jayapura Regency. This study applies a quantitative method that refers to financial analysis to determine the total production cost, revenues, and net benefit-cost ratio (Net B/C Ratio). The result reveals that the profit earned by Wiji and Sumiarsih > 1. This ratio shows that the smoked fish enterprise is worth continuing.

Abstract

This research aimed to find pests' presence and identify the types of pests that attack long bean plants and the symptoms of attack seen on plants in Abe Pantai Hamlet, Asano Village, Abepura District, Jayapura City. The method used in this research is a descriptive method with a survey research approach. In this survey, three kinds of data collection techniques were carried out: Interview, Observation, and Literature Study. Observations were made to determine the main types of pests that attack long bean plants in each experimental unit. The types of pests observed will be divided into three groups, namely: 1) Pests that attack plants in the morning (06.00 – 08.00); 2) Pests that attack plants during the day (11.00 – 13.00); 3) Pests that attack plants in the afternoon (16.00 – 18.00). All observations were made two times, namely two days of observation, with the distance between the first and second observations being seven days. The observation target was on plant parts that were suspected of being attacked, namely leaves, petioles, stems and long bean pods. The results of this study showed that the pests found in the long bean plantation area in Abe Pantai hamlet, Abepura District, Jayapura City were nine types of pests, namely: grasshoppers, caterpillars, aphids, armyworms, koksi beetles, green ladybugs, flower caterpillars, leaf-rolling caterpillars and pod borer caterpillars of long bean plants.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the quality of "Dwitrap" 1 kg sago flour by providing soaking treatment with various types of water: water from Kampung Tambat; well water; mineral water; and gallon water for 12 hours and 24 hours of soaking time to achieve the quality of sago flour according to SNI 01-3729-2008. The results obtained indicate that the treated sago flour has a quality following SNI 01-3729-2008 in terms of the water content parameter (KA), about 13%. The pH values ranging from 6-7 also indicate that the sago flour produced does not contain excess organic acids, which can cause sago to have an acidic taste. The content of crude fibre and fineness of flour that passes a 100 mesh sieve obtained is not yet with the SNI quality standard, so it is necessary to make improvements in the sago processing process, for example, with a sieving machine so that the fibres from the sago stalks are not included and reduce the quality of sago flour. The results obtained indicate that soaking treatment improves the quality of "Dwitrap" sago flour.

Abstract

The availability of complete land resource data and information is needed to support sustainable agricultural development programs. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of land suitability as well as the limiting factors for rice, corn and shallots in the newly opened land of Bokem Village, Merauke District. Soil samples taken from the field were analyzed in the laboratory. Parameters observed were soil texture, C-organic, N-total, P2O5, K2O, CEC, and DHL. Data analysis was carried out by matching or comparing land requirements for plants and land properties in the study area. The results of this comparison show the level of land suitability for corn, soybeans and peanuts which include S1 (very suitable), S2 (appropriate), S3 (marginally suitable), N1 (currently not suitable) and N2 (permanently inappropriate). The results showed that the land suitability class for lowland rice was classified as marginal suitability class (S3) with limiting factors for nutrient retention (f) and available nutrients (n). For corn plants belonging to the current suitability class are not suitable (N1) with limiting factors for nutrient retention (f) and available nutrients (n), while for shallot plants (S3) with limiting factors for water availability (w) nutrient retention (f) and available nutrients (n). Basically the existing limiting factors can be corrected by fertilizing and liming.

Abstract

This study aims 1) to find out the simultaneous effect of land use (X1), seeds (X2), use of fertilizers (X3), and use of labor (X4) on rice production (Y) at Padengo Village, Dengilo Subdistrict, Pohuwato District, 2) to find out the partial effect of land area (X1), use of seeds (X2), use of fertilizers (X3), use of labor (X4), on rice production (Y) at Padengo Village, Dengilo Subdistrict, Pohuwato District. The total population is 196 lowland rice farmers with a transplanting system. The determination of the sample uses the Slovin formula with 36 farmers taken by using simple random. The data analysis uses multiple regression analysis of the Cobb Douglass' function. The results of the study show that: 1) Simultaneously (in F-test), the variables of land area (X1), seeds (X2), fertilizer (X3), and labor (X4) have a significant effect on rice production (Y) of with a transplanting system at Padengo Village, Dengilo Subdistrict, Pohuwato District. 2) Partially, the variables of the area of land (X1) and fertilizer (X3) have a significant effect on rice production (Y), and the variables consisting of seeds (X2) and labor (X4) have no significant effect on the rice production (Y).
